There is a certain melancholy in life - an understanding that the passing of time will render this very moment impossible to recreate.
A memory.
A photograph.
A chance to see the world the way it was, and will never be, again.

When the host passes the guest their bowl of tea, the guest replies with “お点前頂戴いたします,” which loosely translates to “I will receive your tea.” It is a humble way to thank the host for their skillful demonstration at the apex of the tea ceremony and a recognition of the environment and atmosphere they created for their guest.

A long hike up a mountain in Nikko led me to this solitary red door in the middle of a path. Does it lead nowhere? Or does it lead anywhere? I love the dichotomy of possibilities, which really is what life is all about, isn’t it?
*Matted sizes are for the combined print and mat, for framing purposes (so a 10×10 mat may only contain an 8×8 print). Unmatted sizes are the full image size, with no mat mounting included

About Me
I believe deeply in the power of a photograph and the way light can write poetry and a moment can echo across time. With my background in newspaper photojournalism, I bring a storytelling touch to my work, whether it is capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments at a wedding or bringing a portrait to life. Whether a print from one of my fine art series or photos from a precious life moment, I am excited for you to invite my art into your home.~ BrandonAI disclosure: As a believer in the photographic medium and human creativity, I use no AI-generated imagery in my photographs. While I may occasionally AI use for administrative purposes, such as website optimization or accounting assistance, my art, blogs, books, and other creative ventures are completely AI-free.
